Devapriya Khanna has quit Carlsberg India as its Marketing Director. Neither Khanna nor Carlsberg officials could be contacted at the time of filing the report, but sources familiar with the development informed that May 4, 2011 was Khanna’s last day at Carlsberg.
Details on her next destination, or Carlsberg’s next head of marketing were not available at the time of filing the report.
As Director - Marketing of Carlsberg India, Khanna’s responsibilities included building brand equity through brand and portfolio development, directing consumer marketing, brand activation and trade marketing. Danish brewer Carlsberg had entered India in 2006 and Khanna was spearheading initiatives to take the company’s flagship brands – Tuborg and Carlsberg – to the next level. She was leading the company’s communication when Carlsberg launched its premium strong beer – Tuborg Strong – in the Indian beer market.
Khanna’s career spans 14 years. She began her career with Nestle India Ltd, handling brands in the beverage and confectionery segment as Brand Manager. She later joined GE Capital as Product Manager and ICICI Prudential Life Insurance as Marketing Manager. She was then heading the marketing division at Oriflame India as National Marketing Manager.
