Dentsu India dons new leadership structure

Dentsu India Group has announced the appointment of Rohit Ohri as Executive Chairman, Dentsu India Group. Based out of Dentsu India Group's India headquarters, Ohri will report to Senior Vice President Yuzuru Kato of Dentsu Inc., at the global headquarters in Tokyo.

Ohri will assume office as Executive Chairman, Dentsu India Group from August 1, 2011.

With this change, Sandeep Goyal will support the Dentsu India Group in a Non-Executive role as Founder Chairman. The Group will utilise his knowledge and experience in this industry, as and when.

Prior to this, while Yuzuru Kato was India Chairman based out of Tokyo, Seiichiro Hayata was Acting Chairman, Dentsu India Group. Post Ohri’s appointment, Hayata will be Executive Vice Chairman, Dentsu India Group. He will work along with Ohri in management of business across Dentsu India Group companies.

As Executive Chairman, Dentsu India Group, Ohri will spearhead all Dentsu India Group companies and India business. Working in close conjunction with the leadership team in India and Tokyo, he will be responsible for the organisation's strategy and growth in India. Ohri will also lead the charge on the Group's various initiatives in corporate branding, organizational development and people management in compliance with Dentsu Inc.'s best practices across its global network.

Yuzuru Kato said in a press statement, “India is one of the most important markets for us within the Dentsu Network. I am delighted to welcome Rohit-san as head of our India business. In him, we see a seasoned professional with a global world-view who can embody the spirit of the Dentsu Way for all our people, employees and clients alike.”

Kato added: “I have great confidence in Rohit-san's expertise and keen business sense. We are on the same page in terms of vision, creative and strategic thinking, and ideas for the development of strong teams. It is my sincere belief that the Dentsu India Group will grow into one of the most highly respected solutions agencies under his leadership.”

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
