Naren Kaimal and Amardeep Singh, formerly of Dentsu India, have been appointed as Executive Creative Directors with M&C Saatchi. While Kaimal has already joined the agency, Singh will be joining from January 15.
Commenting on the new appointments, Kamal Oberoi, Chairman and Managing Director, M&C Saatchi, said, “They are seasoned creative people with a lot of depth of experience. They will further raise the standard of the agency.”
Kaimal said, “I consider this to be an exciting opportunity to work with a start-up agency like M&C Saatchi. I found a great affinity for M&C Saatchi’s philosophy, which is brutal simplicity. It’s a good fit between our thinking and the agency’s thinking.”
Both Singh and Kaimal had worked in Dentsu in the same position. They had joined the agency in 2005 and had worked on brands like Toyota, Yamaha and Radico Khaitan, among others. They were recently appointed as the national creative resource for all the three Dentsu companies in India and also in Dubai.
At M&C Saatchi, both would be looking after almost the entire portfolio of the agency. Commenting on the challenges ahead, Kaimal said, “We have to grow the business on the strength of the thinking that we do for the brands. Our philosophy is based on the premise that it is always easier to complicate things but tougher to simplify them. We have to prove ourselves using this philosophy to make communication beautifully simple.”
Kaimal has ad varied agency experience including that with Mudra, Dhar&Hoon, RK Swamy BBDO and FCB Ulka, besides Dentsu. His longest stint was with Dhar&Hoon. Among the various brands that he has handled include ICI Dulux, NIIT, HCL and JK Tyres, among others.
Singh has worked with Contract Advertising, McCann Erickson, Grey and Mudra, and has handled a diverse portfolio of brands, including Domino’s, Motorola, NIIT, Bacardi, PVR Cinemas, Seagram’s and Microsoft.
