Everest Brand Solutions has appointed D Rajappa as President. Rajappa will succeed Mahesh Chauhan, who recently took over as President of Rediffusion DY&R. Incidentally, Rajappa had been heading the Sri Lanka operations of Rediffusion DY&R since 2003.
Rajappa has over 18 years’ experience in advertising. He began his career in 1988 with McCann, New Delhi and moved on to Interact Vision, before joining Rediffusion DY&R in 1994. Having spent over 12 years with the agency, Rajappa has managed some of the agency’s most prestigious clients such as Airtel and GPI.
He also led Rediffusion DY&R’s foray into Experiential Marketing by setting up a division for Event Management and established a tie-up with MART, a leading rural marketing consultancy.
Commenting on his new role, Rajappa said, “I am absolutely delighted at having been presented with this opportunity. Everest is an exciting and a dynamic brand. Rajappa was deputed as CEO of Rediffusion DY&R, Sri Lanka, in 2003 and has been instrumental in turning around the operation to be among the Top 10 agencies in Sri Lanka. In the last three years, the agency has built a strong and impressive client roster of brands such as Hitachi, Hutch, Lanka IOC, LIC Lanka, Philips Lighting, Renault, Singer, Whirlpool and some of the leading brands from the Maharaja Group in a highly competitive and complex market.
