CVL Srinivas quits Starcom MediaVest Group

After a stint of nearly two years, CVL Srinivas has resigned from Starcom MediaVest Group as its Chairman-India and CEO, LiquidThread APAC.

While no official confirmation was available, industry sources have confirmed the development to exchange4media. Srinivas is slated to join GroupM as replacement for Vikram Sakhuja’s role of CEO GroupM South Asia in January 2013.

It is understood that SMG is not going to replace Srinivas’ position. At present, CR Mallikarjundas heads SMG as its CEO.

Srinivas, who has worked in agencies such as Madison Media and GroupM’s Maxus in the past brings over 20 years of experience in the media and advertising industry in India, spanning local and multinational media agencies, a digital media start-up and The Times of India’s Private Treaties function.

He has held senior management positions in leading media agencies Fulcrum, Madison Media and Maxus (GroupM) in India/Asia-Pacific. He has worked closely with several leading advertisers including Unilever, Coca-Cola, Nokia and Vodafone.
