Coca-Cola India appoints Vikas Gupta as VP, Marketing

Coca-Cola India has filled the space that Shripad Nadkarni is vacating. The company has appointed Vikas Gupta as its new Vice-President, Marketing. He will assume his new responsibilities at Coca-Cola India from March 1, 2005.

For Gupta, this is coming back to familiar ground. He had earlier spent ten years with Coca-Cola, both in India and Atlanta. This time he is moving to Coke from Yum Restaurants International, which owns the Pizza Hut chain.

Last month, Nadkarni, VP, Marketing, and Sharda Agarwal, Director, Marketing, had put in their papers at the cola major. Nadkarni has spent over four years with Coke, and Agarwal over two years. They have joined hands to set up their own market consultancy firm.
