CNN International appoints Sonali Chatterjee as Director, Sales for India and South Asia

Sonali Chatterjee has joined CNN International as Sales Director for India and South Asia. Based in New Delhi, Chatterjee would lead the network’s fast growing advertising business in the region. Her key responsibilities would include managing and offering strategic advice to the increasing number of companies targeting the global consumer, through CNN’s various platforms.

Prior to her appointment at CNN, Chatterjee was Head of Sponsorship and Client Solutions for India at BBC World and spent nearly a decade there. Her role at BBC World included building brand salience amongst advertisers and the trade, and moving the revenue focus from domestic to international sales.

Chatterjee comes to CNN Inernational with an extensive experience in advertising sales and a cross functional strategic perspective that would augment the network’s future growth in India. She began her career with print in 1990 with the Ananda Bazaar Patrika Group, and then moved on to Nimbus Communications Ltd to oversee the airtime sales of live sports and entertainment such as cricket and international film award ceremonies.
