CineMaya Media Group appoints Rajiv Mishra as Business Head for Broadcast Media

Rajiv Mishra has come on board CineMaya Media Group Inc as Business Head, Broadcast Media. CineMaya is currently engaged in launching TV channels across North America and Canada. Mishra moves from Digital Broadcasting Pvt Ltd, where he was CEO and MD.

CineMaya is a US-listed public company in media, entertainment and marketing services focused on India and the Indian community throughout the world and a provider of high quality international South Asian media, entertainment, and marketing services.

Commenting on Mishra’s appointment, Sunil Hali, Chairman, CineMaya Media, said, “We are launching several channels in the US and Canada, and Rajeev with his extensive experience in broadcasting would be of great help for these launches.”

When contacted, Mishra confirmed the development and said, “CineMaya Media is doing extremely well in the US-Canada market, and the offer from the Chairman was tempting enough as it includes equity participation as well.”

Mishra has over 19 years’ experience in the fields of media, entertainment, IT and telco. Some of his earlier assignments include a stint with BAG Films Ltd as COO, Radio Dhamaal, and Director, New Media. He had earlier worked with Star TV-DTH as Senior Manager-Programming for two years; TV Asia, USA, as Vice President-Business Development; Yes TV as Executive Director and CEO for two years; and Reliance Infocomm Ltd as General Manager-Broadband for four years. He began his career in media as a sub-editor with Hindustan Times.

Established in 2000 as a vertically integrated company, CineMaya Media Group has since grown into a mini-conglomerate in the ethnic media landscape through its robust businesses in publication, broadcast television, radio, film and television production, events, and advertising. CineMaya publishes The Indian Express North American edition (three regional editions in the US and a Canadian edition), Divya Bhaskar North American edition (US and Canada edition), and Telugu Times. The Group is also a partner in the first 24x7 FM radio station for the South Asian community in North America, broadcasting from New Jersey.
