After a gap of almost one year and many rounds of speculation, Carat India has a new CEO. Charles Berley Jenarius is slated to take over as the head of the Indian operations of the agency very soon.
Jenarius shifted to Nigeria almost a year and a half back to join Globacom, Nigeria's second largest national telecommunications operator as director, in charge of communication and corporate affairs. Jenarius who was born in Africa is soon set to return to India. Before heading for Nigeria, he was part of Redifussion DY&R in Delhi and before that McCann Erickson in Mumbai.
exchange4media readers would recall that Carat went through a tumultuous time last year after the high profile CEO Meenakshi Madhvani quit. Along with Madhvani some of the other executives also left the agency. Things started falling back into place early this year when the agency bagged a few accounts namely Sahara Group, Federal Express, Andhra Bank, Vishakapatnam Export Processing Zone, CISCO, Royal Palms, Vipul Developers & Cream Bell.
Shripad Kulkarni, CEO, Carat (West) and Sulina Menon CEO, Carat (North) will both be reporting to Jenarius.
None of the agency spokesperson was reachable for comment on this development at the time of this story going on line.
