English daily DNA saw the exits of two senior hands earlier today. Ayaz Memon, Editor-at-large, and Ishu Bhalla, Head - Revenues have quit the organisation. Confirming the development, KU Rao, CEO, DNA, informed that he would not be replacing either of the two positions, but has instead reorganised the structure. He also informed that Ayaz Memon would continue with DNA as a columnist.
Rao further informed that the role of Editor-at-Large was now divided between a Sports Editor and an After Hours Editor. He added that the company had already shortlisted likely replacements and would decide on the final names soon. Speaking on Memon’s decision to quit, Rao said, “He has been with us for five years, and he has done his bit for the company in a sense. But more importantly, he continues to be associated with us a columnist.”
In the case of Ishu Bhalla’s role of a revenue head, too, the company has decided to reorganise its sales structure. Hereon, all regional offices would independently and directly report to Rao. While it is understood that Bhalla would not continue in the media space, details on his next venture were not available at the time of filing the report.
