Changes in BCCL South: Chinnen Das made Director Business Development South; Sunil Rajshekhar is CEO, VPL

Bennett, Coleman & Company Ltd (BCCL) has effected some senior level changes in its Southern operations in view of the business potential of the region. Chinnen Das has been appointed to the newly-created post of Director Business Development, Southern Region. Prior to this appointment, Das was President, Vijayanand Printers Ltd (VPL). Succeeding him is Sunil Rajshekhar, who has been made CEO of VPL. Rajshekhar is currently President & COO of Times Internet. Both appointments are effective September 21.

Both Das and Rajshekhar will be reporting to Ravi Dhariwal, CEO, BCCL.

Rajshekhar has confirmed his appointment as President of VPL to exchange4media. However, Ravi Dhariwal could not be reached for comments on this development despite repeated attempts. There was no official confirmation from Das, too, at the time of filling the story.

Das has been with BCCL for several years. He had joined the organisation in 1977 and since then has handled various roles over the years. He was appointed President of Vijayanand Printers Ltd in 2006 when BCCL had picked up majority stake in the company.

Rajshekhar, too, is a BCCL veteran, with over 25 years with the group, and had initiated BCCL’s Internet foray with Times Interactive and the launch of Indiatimes. During the dotcom boom, he had joined Indiainfo.com, following which he joined STAR TV’s interactive division. He then moved back to BCCL to head Private Treaties. Prior to returning to the Internet business at BCCL, Rajshekhar was Director, South with the Times Group.
