CavinKare appoints new Dir & CEO for Personal Care & Foods Div

Diversified FMCG conglomerate CavinKare has announced the appointment of Nellaiappan Thiruambalam as the new Director and CEO of its Personal Care and Foods Division. In addition to this, Thiruambalam will also be heading the company’s International Business and Strategic Alliances.

Thiruambalam joins CavinKare from Heinz India, bringing in three decades of work experience in the consumer goods segment as well as institutional and commercial spaces in India, Asia and across the globe. He has held management positions and has immensely contributed in majors such as GSK, GE Lighting and Heinz India. He was CMD of Heinz India prior to joining CavinKare.

Commenting on Thiruambalam’s appointment, CK Ranganathan, Chairman and Managing Director, CavinKare said, “We are very happy that Thiruambalam has joined us at our Mumbai office. We greatly value the FMCG experience and his leadership skills. He is known for both his strategic thinking as well as rigorous execution skills. We are now optimally constituted to drive our growth strategy.”

On his new role, Thiruambalam said, “The company has been growing strongly over the years and we are now better positioned than ever before to grow and to win greater market share. It is my ambition to help make CavinKare a Top Three player in the personal care and foods segments in India.”

As is known, CavinKare’s brand portfolio consists of shampoos (Chik, Meera, and Nyle), fairness creams (Fairever), deodorant and talc (Spinz), pickles & snacks (Ruchi, Chinni’s and Garden), hair colours (Indica), beverages (Maa), dairy (Cavin’s), and beauty salons (Limelite and Green Trends).

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
