Vidhu Sagar has joined Carat India as Head of North and East regions, where he will be responsible for running Carat Media Services’ entire operations in these two regions. He moves from Business Today, where he was Head of Marketing. It may be recalled that Radhesh Uchil was appointed as Head of West and South regions for Carat India in late 2007.
Announcing Sagar’s appointment, P V Narayanamoorthy, Managing Director, Carat India, said, “We are very happy to have Vidhu Sagar join our leadership team, since he possesses not just cross-disciplinary experience across the diverse fields of media planning and brand building, but also has the drive and dynamism to take these regions forward.”

Sagar was equally positive about the new challenge. “The media environment is witnessing rapid changes and unprecedented growth in our country. I am looking forward to doing great work with Carat India as it is a very exciting time to be in the media industry today,” he said.
With this appointment, Sagar moves back to media planning and buying after many years of success in the advertising and publishing industries. An MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, Sagar began his career in media planning with Everest Advertising (now a DY&R agency), and later on was employed in brand management with the JWT Group and McCann networks. Following this, he spent six years with Draft FCB-Ulka Advertising.
Some of the brands that he has handled include Compaq, Tropicana, Bausch & Lomb, ABN Amro, Dabur, Hero Honda, NIIT, HCL, and ITC John Players, among others.
