Carat’s Peter Suresh, who from being the Buying Head of Delhi operations was moved to Mumbai to take care of Carat’s Percept-affiliated business, has joined the Bhaskar Group as General Manager in the marketing function. Suresh assumed the new role on April 24, 2006. Continuing to be based in Mumbai, he will be responsible for promoting and marketing key metro markets of the group.
Suresh will be reporting to Bhaskar Group’s Director, Girish Agrawal. Speaking on the new assignment, Suresh said, “Bhaskar would be a fresh challenge that, I believe, would draw all my experience over the years. Marketers today are seeking wholesome media solutions and markets beyond the conventional top eight metros, which are fast attaining critical mass.”
Suresh is convinced that he was at the right place at the right time to champion these emerging markets. He has spent nearly 18 years in media and comes in with a well-rounded experience having done stints across sales, agency and as a client.
Suresh began his career with The Times of India, Bangalore, where he spent four years with the Response team. From there he moved to O&M, working on accounts such as Titan and UB for three years before taking over as Head of Buying at Initiative Media, primarily handling the Britannia AOR.
His next assignment was with the BPL Group, where he took on the responsibility of handling the entire media operations. From there, he moved to Universal McCann at Delhi, following which his past assignment comprised two years with Carat at Delhi and Mumbai, as Head of Affiliate Agency business.
