Brand Portrait appoints Rajesh Ananthasubramanian as CEO, US & Canada operations.

Chennai-based Brand Portrait Consulting has appointed Rajesh Ananthasubramanian as CEO for their operations in the US and Canada. Prior to joining Brand Portrait Consulting, he was CEO of India Plaza, an online Indian shopping portal.

Ananthasubramanian was instrumental in integrating the e-commerce websites, Indiaplaza.com and Fabmall.com, into a single technical platform, Microsoft.net technologies, and launched the largest gifting platform with a catalogue of more than two million products.

This appointment provides Brand Portrait with the opportunity to focus on its international expansion and tap the US and Canadian market as the company embarks on the first stage of its international development programme.

Commenting on this appointment, Raj Narain, Co-founder, Brand Portrait, said, “I believe that after techies who have brought glory to brand India, it is the turn of marketers to add feathers to the cap. The appointment of Rajesh will help Brand Portrait evolve into one of the powerhouses of communication, spanning traditional media and the emerging media via Internet and mobile platforms. Having turned around India Plaza, his domain knowledge in the online space, his understanding of the US market and his professional acumen will help Brand Portrait to establish itself in the new geography.”

Said Ananthasubramanian, “Brand Portrait is a communications consulting firm that firmly believes in giving more value and result oriented advice to clients. Thus, the company is well positioned to capitalise on the new and emerging markets, which is taking a gradual shift to performance-based remuneration. I am looking forward to bring a major impact and development in the US business operations of Brand Portrait.”

Since being founded by Raj Narain and Venu Gopal Nair in 2004, Brand Portrait has achieved rapid business growth. The agency claims that all its clients are 100 per cent referrals based. The company, besides offering traditional, offline advertising services, also offers advertising in the digital space, CRM and logistics management through its associate company, Brand Portrait Digital.
