Bindass elevates Nikhil Gandhi as VP, National Sales; Ashok A Cherian is VP, Marketing

Bindass has elevated two of its senior people. Nikhil Gandhi has been made VP National Sales, while Ashok A Cherian has been promoted to VP, Marketing. Gandhi replaces Sanjay Puthli, while Cherian replaces Sita Laxmi Narayan Swami.

Confirming the development, Zarina Mehta, CEO, Bindass, said, “I am delighted to have Nikhil as VP, National Sales, and Ashok as VP, Marketing, to take over the responsibilities at Bindass. They bring to the positions not only years of media expertise, but an in-depth knowledge of the current business trends in entertainment as well. They will be an important asset to our brand and I am confident that under their able guidance Bindass will go from strength to strength.”

Prior to this promotion, Cherian was Associate Director, Marketing, for Bindass and Bindass Movies. In his new role, Cherian would be overseeing all marketing activities for the brand, which includes where Brand Bindass should go besides ensuring the brand promise of being a 360-degree entertainment youth brand across TV, Web and mobile.

Before joining Bindass in 2007, Cherian had spent seven years with MTV in a variety of roles, including writer, producer and marketer. He began his career as a creative writer with JAM magazine.

Gandhi was earlier Regional Director, West & South, Advertising & Sponsorship Sales, at Bindass and Bindass Movies. He has eight years’ experience in media and entertainment. Previously, Gandhi had worked as Regional Head - West, Zoom Television, and was part of the core team at Zoom during the launch of the channel in 2004. He was also associated with the Times Group for three years as also with MTV Network.

Brand Bindass, a UTV venture, is a 360-degree entertainment youth brand. It has ventures across television, mobile, web, gaming, merchandising, retail and nation wide ground events. The brand believes in celebration of being young in India and is all about being fun, frank, fearless and valuing freedom in all its forms.


Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
