Big FM appoints Akash Verma as Regional Head, North II

Akash Verma has joined Big FM as its Regional Head, North II. Prior to this, he was with Red FM as Delhi Station Head, where he was also handling their national portfolio of Activations and Events.

At Big FM, Verma will be looking after the entire functioning of the North II stations – Delhi, Kanpur, Allahabad, Bareily, Aligarh, Agra, Udaipur, Kota, Jodhpur, Hisar, Bikaner and Ajmer. He will be based in Delhi.

Commenting on Verma’s appointment, Himanshu Shekhar, Regional Head (North and West), Big FM, said, “Akash, with his rich experience and in-depth knowledge of the media industry, is sure to bring in great value addition for our organisation. I am sure, with his leadership our team will create great entertainment for our listeners. I would like to welcome Akash in this Big Family and look forward to a great innings with him.”

On his decision to join Big FM, Verma said, “It gives me immense pleasure to join the Big FM family and work with the team to take the brand towards leadership in Delhi and Northern India markets. I am sure we would continue to deliver quality and top class entertainment that enriches peoples’ lives.”

Verma, a Post-Graduate in marketing from The Times School in Delhi, began his professional journey with Times FM, wherein he worked in the media sales and event team. He later joined Coca-Cola India and undertook various regional marketing assignments across Mumbai, South Maharashtra and Gujarat before moving to Delhi to handle Brands and New Products. After spending seven and a half years with Coca-Cola, he moved on to join Red FM.
