Baskin Robbins’ Subroto Mukherjee joins BURGS as COO

Subroto Mukherjee, formerly the COO of Baskin Robbins, has been roped in as Chief Operating Officer for BURGS. BURGS, founded by industrialist Sanjay Kilachand, aims to introduce the concept of gourmet burgers to its consumers in the Indian market.

“With his robust approach and passion, and the years of experience to back him up, we couldn’t have picked a better man than Subroto Mukherjee to head this brand,” said Kilachand.

BURGS currently has two stores in Mumbai and Pune, and over the next three years is targeting to open around 25 stores spread across five cities – Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad under Mukherjee’s leadership.

A veteran in the hospitality industry for over 20 years, Mukherjee has worked in hotel majors such as The Leela Kempinski, ITC, Park Plaza Hotels, and Pizza Express, His last assignment was as COO of Baskin Robbins.

On joining BURGS, Mukherjee said, “After being proficient in the hospitality industry, moving from F&B verticals to operations, taking on an assignment like BURGS excites me. This task puts to test all my acquired knowledge over the years and this challenge itself is what keeps me motivated.”
