B Sai Kumar, Group CEO, Network18 puts in his papers

B Sai Kumar, Group CEO, Network 18 has put in his papers as per highly placed industry sources. Kumar was promoted as Group CEO of Network18 in 2011 from his earlier role as Group COO. He was with the Group for close to 14 years.

As Group CEO, he was responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Network18 Group. He was also on the Boards of Viacom18 and Homeshop18. He oversaw the Group’s diverse portfolio of assets spanning news and entertainment broadcasting, digital & print publishing, filmed entertainment, digital commerce and other allied businesses.

Kumar was regarded as the most promising young leader of the Indian media industry when he was elevated to the position of COO of Network 18 in 2005.

Before Network18, Kumar was with the Times Group.

He was also a board member of the News Broadcasters Association for the year 2011-12.
