Bhupendra Singh Kamra, VP, Business Development with TDI International, has put in his papers after spending five years with the outdoor advertising agency. Kamra’s next destination is not finalised yet. However, while speaking with exchange4media, Kamra revealed that he was “seriously looking at going on my own”.
Kamra, who is essentially looking at the OOH industry, will form his own company with a partner for which he is in talks with 2-3 people to set up base in the next 15 days. He said, “I am looking at picking up partners in a formative step so that the company can be moulded the way I want.”
Elaborating further, Kamra said, “I have very specific ideas. I am looking at a consolidated platform for the outdoor media. Outdoor media in India still hasn’t taken shape, I want to give it a global perspective and make it more organised, which, so far, is the most disorganised industry in India.”
He added that he would look at servicing key sectors like telecom, real estate and the financial sector.
Kamra, who had an ‘amazing’ and ‘wonderful’ stint at TDI, expressed his desire to implement the same model (followed in TDI) in the entire industry.
He began his career in 1986 with Meridien Hotel in Delhi, where he spent five years and was Assistant Manager, Food & Beverage at the time of quitting the company. After that he joined Kensington Group, USA, as Store Manager for two years.
Kamra has also worked with Dalmia Hospitality and Tourism for three-and-a-half years. He was the Regional Manager, Sales-Northern India at the time of quitting the company. Prior to joining TDI International, Kamra had worked with a real estate MNC, Continental Assets, as GM-Sales and Marketing for four years.
