Arun Mahajan brought in as National Business Head, Rediffusion DYR, for LG account

Rediffusion DYR has appointed Arun Mahajan as National Business Head for the LG Electronics business. Mahajan will look after all the verticals of LGEIL, including the brand portfolio.

Confirming the movement, Sandeep Madan, Executive Vice President, Rediffusion DYR, said, “Rediffusion DYR Delhi office is setting up a 55-member strong business unit dedicated to LG. Best in class talent from across the industry is joining this unit. With Arun coming on board as National Business Head on LG, the top team is now complete with Arun, Mrinal and Varun as partners. They bring a lot of category experience, skill and knowledge which is vital for success. With the LG team now in place, watch this space for fantastic work from Rediffusion DYR. With the setting up of this unit, Rediffusion DYR Delhi will have two dedicated units for its two large clients, Airtel and LG.”

He further said, “We will be partnering LG for all their communication needs across touchpoints. We will also be partnering the other specialist partners (events and digital) for the communication plans. It is too early to comment on the details of this engagement as we are in the process of developing the work for LG.”

Commenting on his new role, Mahajan said, “Considering the global realignment, Korean electronic giant LG and Rediffusion DYR coming together is a big opportunity to work on, where Rediffusion DYR has no prior baggage of working with LG before. With my prior experiences I am happy to be working on international companies, particularly in the GSM and IT space.”

Prior to joining Rediffusion DYR Mahajan was Vice-President, Account Management, at Bates David Enterprise, where he was handling the Nokia business. He had also handled the Hitachi and Indiatimes accounts for a short while.

Mahajan had also worked with Mudra Delhi for over a decade and was Group Business Director when he left the agency. At Mudra Delhi, he was looking after the Samsung and Nestle accounts. When the Samsung business moved from Mudra to Cheil Communication after Samsung set up their in-house creative team, Mahajan joined the team as Associate VP, Client Servicing, and was with them for four years.
