Arun Gupta quits as Mauj Telecom CEO

Arun Gupta, CEO and one of the promoters of mobile content firm Mauj Telecom, has put in his papers. His next destination is not yet known.

Gupta has over 18 years’ experience in new media, animation and technology companies. He has spent the last six years working on mobile value added services, user experience management, gaming and wireless technologies.

Prior to Mauj Telecom, he has developed and managed various businesses with companies such as Cnet, MTV, Yahoo!, and the STAR TV Group in India, US and Hong Kong. Besides serving as the CEO at Mauj Telecom, Gupta is currently pursuing a PhD. in International Marketing and Business Policy. He is a MCSD, MCSE, Sun-certified Java programmer, CCNA, Autodesk Authorised Instructor and Adobe-certified expert.

Mauj Telecom offers services in three areas – mobile content and applications (games, wallpapers, ringtones, news, matrimonials), mobile software and services (middleware solutions, roaming applications, SMS gateways), and mobile media solutions (advertising and branding opportunities).

Mauj recently signed a deal with Eros for Bollywood content. It has received nearly $10 million in venture funding from blue-chip VC funds such as WestBridge Capital, Intel Capital and Sequoia Capital.
