AP Parigi roped in as Senior Advisor and Consultant of Accel Transmatic Ltd

Accel Transmatic Ltd has appointed AP Parigi as Senior Advisor and Consultant, who will advise them on all media, animation, VFX and gaming related matters. He will also be the Chairman of Accel Media Ventures Ltd (a group company) and Corporate Advisor to the Accel Group. Parigi will guide Accel’s media initiatives to the next level.

Commenting on the development, NR Panicker, Chairman, Accel Group, said, “Parigi will advise us on various strategic matters in the group companies and help us move to the next league.”

Parigi has 35 years of experience spanning across several sectors, including telecommunications, media and entertainment. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Bennet, Coleman & Co Ltd. He also serves on the Boards of Times Group companies, including Times Innovative Media Ltd (OOH), Times Global Broadcasting Co Ltd (Times Now), Worldwide Media (a JV with the BBC), and TIML Global Ltd, UK. He has held a number of key positions, including that of the CEO of BPL Mobile Communications (a JV with France Telecom), Mumbai. He is credited with developing and establishing Radio Mirchi into a power brand across 32 cities and broadcasting in 10 languages. After his tenure as Managing Director of Entertainment Network India Ltd (Radio Mirchi), Parigi also served as Managing Director and Group CEO of Eros International Ltd, India.

In April 2009, Parigi was a recipient of the Rensselaer Entrepreneur of the year Award conferred by the Severino Center for Technological Entrepreneurship in the Lally School of Management & Technology, New York. In June 2010, Parigi joined the business advisory council of the Said Business School (Oxford University), UK. He is also on the advisory board of the Fordham Graduate School of Business, Fordham University, New York.

Accel was founded in March 1991 by five first-generation technopreneurs under the leadership of NR Panicker. The Group’s flagship company, Accel Ltd, is a technology holding company focusing on the IT industry and media. The group companies operate in the domains of System Integration, Technology Services, Software Development, Business Process Outsourcing, and Animation Content Development. Accel’s offices are spread across 59 cities in India, Singapore, the Middle-East and the US.

The company’s animation arm, Accel Animation Studios, was set up in Chennai in July 2006 as part of its initiative to foray into digital media technologies.
