Anurag Gupta joining Mudra as President, Strategic Initiatives & Integration

Anurag Gupta is joining Mudra Group from July 10 as President, Strategic Initiatives & Integration. He will be working closely with Pratap Bose, the newly appointed Mudra Group COO, and senior management of the Group’s successful SBUs to integrate solutions and build seamless through-the-line capabilities. His mandate to begin with, would be to venture the Group into events, sports, rural and retail marketing. Gupta moves from Ogilvy Action, where he was President.

Commenting on Gupta’s appointment, Madhukar Kamath, MD & CEO, Mudra Group, said, “The Mudra Group has already built a number of strong marketing services specialists. However, our ambition does not stop here. It is time for us to build industry leading brands in events, sports, rural and retail marketing. In addition to venturing into new businesses, Anurag will help deliver through-the-line brand experience capabilities for our key clients.”

On his new role, Gupta said, “I am extremely excited about my new role. Both Madhukar and Pratap’s ambition and vision for the business is in line with what I always wanted to do. I have always believed that only setting up divisions is not enough. The future and growth in our business lies in delivering value to clients by offering seamless solutions across platforms rather than airtight silos of events, promotion, digital, retail, PR or outdoor. We have chalked out ambitious plans and we are on the lookout for evangelists who think like us.”

With stints in Grey, Lowe, Unilever, Draft Worldwide East Africa and Ogilvy Action, Gupta has over 12 years of marketing and brand management experience. In his last stint, he had spent four years with Ogilvy Action. He is credited with having turned around Ogilvy Action within a year, and doubling their revenues within three years. He also built the division’s planning function and integrated it with brand teams.
