Anup Jain is the new Director-Marketing, Indian subcontinent, of fast food chain Pizza Hut owned by Yum! Restaurants. Jain will report to Chief Marketing Officer for the Indian subcontinent, Arvind Mediratta. His last stint was with Whirlpool as General Manager, Brand Marketing.
Jain has earned himself a distinction for thinking out-of-the-box and challenging the status quo with new ideas. At Whirlpool, he innovatively launched the ‘Sensation’ washing machine through a clutter-breaking ‘What Women Want’ campaign and forged alliances with Rin and Surf Excel. In 2005, he led the Diwali programme, organising over 20 festive events with seven publications, and an exclusive alliance with ICICI Bank that led to a breakthrough growth in the business. He is also the man behind the project ‘To-Be-Weds’, in alliance with www.timesmatri.com, which was launched in March 2006.
Jain has around 10 years of experience in brand management and marketing in India and other countries in Asia. He has worked in the FMCG, new media, cosmetics (direct selling) and consumer durables sectors. He had worked with companies like Procter & Gamble, STAR and Oriflame Asia prior to joining Whirlpool in 2004.
