Amit Khanna bids adieu to Reliance Big Entertainment

Amit Khanna, Chairman of Reliance Big Entertainment, has decided to move on from the organisation after a stint of around 13 years.

On his future endeavour, Khanna said, “I am now going to spend my time in writing, industry welfare & development and mentoring young talent and giving back as much as I can to society. But, a lot of my immediate time will go towards documenting the history of Indian media and entertainment from the 18th century - something which I have desired to do for many years.”

Khanna is an industry veteran with 43 years’ experience virtually all segments of media and entertainment – print, theatre, radio, films, TV and digital.

He had joined Reliance in 2000 and started and helped build the company into a global entertainment powerhouse.

Prior to Reliance Big Entertainment, Khanna was with Plus Channel as Managing Director. He had an 11-year stint with the company, which he had helped set up.

Khanna started out as an Executive Producer with actor Dev Anand’s venture Nav Ketan in 1971. He produced his first feature film in 1980, called ‘Man Pasand’, starring Dev Anand. He has also written lyrics for film as well as non-film songs, besides writing film scripts, including the award-winning film ‘Saaransh’.
