aMap appoints Uday Mawani as COO

aMap is in the process of making senior level inductions. One of the first is of Uday Mawani as the Chief Operating Officer of the organisation. Tapan Pal, CEO, aMap informs that the organisation will make more announcements by September 2005.

Pal elaborated, “aMap is expanding as an organisation. We are covering key markets of the Hindi belt now, besides Mumbai, Delhi and Ahmedabad. To manage such an expansion, appointments are being made at all levels, including very senior positions.” He added that the position of COO being filled was one of the first such appointments.

Mawani joined office on August 17, 2005 and would be operating from Ahmedabad. Mawani, Pal said.

Elaborating on Mawani’s appointment, Pal said, “Uday comes with multi-disciplinary expertise in the fields of television broadcasting, communications and advertising and market and social research. He brings with him over 32 years of experience in relevant fields and has held senior corporate positions with Broadcast Worldwide, Suvik Communications, Shilpi Advertising, Calico Mills, and Crompton Greaves Ltd. We are very pleased to have him as a senior member of the team.”

About future appointments, Pal added, “Several senior and middle level appointments have also been firmed up and are expected to be on board by September. These include various positions like General Manager, Client Relationship Manager, Manager - Research and Insights, and so on.”
