Alok Saxena has joined World Wide Media as Regional Head-North India, for Femina and Filmfare magazines. World Wide Media is a JV of Times of India and BBC Worldwide. Saxena would be reporting to Director-Marketing Jyoti Verma. His last stint was with Magna Publishing Group as General Manager-North India where his role was to head the complete operations of Magna Publishing in the Northern region.
Said Saxena, “I am happy to join World Wide Media as there are lot of challenges ahead for me with foreign magazines entering India. My main role would be to handle Femina and Filmfare in the Northern region.”
Saxena started his career in 1991 as Trainee with Reed Elsevier, an event and database management company based in the UK, for almost five years. He then moved to Indian Express-Delhi in 1996 as Senior Executive-Space Marketing, worked with them for 4.5 years, where he handled various portfolios like special features, display, retail advertising, national features, He resigned as Deputy Manager-Space Marketing in 2000, and joined Hindustan Times-Delhi as Assistant Manager-Media Marketing where he worked for another four-and-half years. He handled display advertising for the first three years, and then transferred to Jaipur in 2003 as Area Manager.
In 2004, he joined Rajasthan Patrika as State Head-Marketing and led the North India operation while being based at Delhi for a year. He was with India Today for a short stint of six months and headed Hindi India Today in the Northern region as Deputy Chief Manager.
