Fun Cinemas has appointed Ajay Mehra as CEO. Fun Cinemas is part of E-City Ventures, a corporate brand representing various interests in the cinema exhibition and retail real estate business of the Essel Group.

At Fun Cinemas, Mehra will be spearheading the growth and consolidation strategy of the company’s exhibition business, in addition to the other small business units (SBUs) of E-City’s cinema exhibition business. These SBUs include E-City Digital, a company that operates 110 screens by digitising cinema content, and E-City Media, which manages and sells on-screen and off-screen advertising and branding for multiplex players and mall operators across the country.

Said Mehra, “Fun Cinemas has a unique position in cinema exhibition and I am excited to be associated with the brand. I look forward to working with the very proactive team and taking Atul Goel’s and the group’s vision forward.”

Welcoming Mehra, Atul Goel, MD, E-City Ventures Pvt Ltd, said, “Ajay brings with him invaluable experience, having spearheaded some of the leading retail and marketing companies in India.
