Kolkata-based media giant ABP Group has announced several senior level management changes. This is probably the first major management reshuffle since Pramath Raj Sinha took over as Managing Director of the group in January last year, after his high profile assignments as Partner of McKinsey India and Dean of Indian School of Business.
Vikas Gupta, who had joined the group last year as CMO and President, Businessworld, and is based in Delhi, will now be CMO and President, Advertising Sales. Dinesh Jain, VP-Advertising Sales, will now relocate to Delhi.
Amitabha Datta, who was Vice President, The Telegraph, has been promoted as President-Dailies. Shraman Jha, currently General Manager, will take over as Vice President, The Telegraph. Kaushik Banerjee comes on board as Vice President, Ananda Bazar Patrika, from the Murugappa Group, where he was head of marketing and sales.
Madhumita Chattopadhyay will take over as VP, Bengali magazines, while also continuing in her current role as Editor of Sananda, the women’s fortnightly from the group.
Anuradha Das Mathur, who has been redesignated as Associate VP, Businessworld, will look after the magazine and its line extensions.
Another major change is that of Chandan Majumdar, currently VP-ABP, who has been made VP-Finance.
Said Sinha when contacted by exchange4media, “As ABP grows, we have the opportunity to create new and more challenging roles for our people. These changes reflect this overall philosophy, as also our desire to streamline our management and empower people at all levels to lead and grow our businesses.”
