Abhishek Verma joins Star World and Star Movies as Marketing Head

Abhishek Verma, who had recently moved out of Neo Sports as Marketing Head, has joined Star World and Star Movies in a similar capacity. In his new role, Verma will be reporting to Anupam Vasudev, EVP - Marketing, Star India.

At Neo Sports, Verma was overseeing the marketing of all the business verticals for both Neo Cricket and Neo Sports channels. Prior to joining Neo Sports, he was with Sony Entertainment Television, where he was heading the marketing division of SAB.

Verma has over 10 years’ experience in media, Internet and CRM, and was associated with Discovery Channel as Marketing Manager.

He had also worked with a Singapore-based CRM consultancy, SurfGold, as Head of Client Services, where he had created loyalty marketing programmes for companies such as Tommy Hilfiger, FedEx, Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard.

Meanwhile, Star has recently seen two exits when Hari Krishnan and Ravi Luthria put in their papers at Star Plus and Star One, respectively.

Kranti Gada joined the family business at Shemaroo in 2006 after a successful stint of over two years in marketing at Pepsi Co. She has been associated with the company for 12 years.
