Abhijit Pradhan quits Mid-Day, plans own venture to train professionals

Abhijit Pradhan, Director-Sales and Marketing, Mid-Day Multimedia Ltd, has decided to move on. He is planning to start his own venture to impart training to professionals. Pradhan’s role would now be divided between National Sales Head Gaurish Pathare and Marketing Head Neville Bastawalla. They would be reporting to Manajit Ghoshal, who was recently elevated as CEO at Mid-Day Multimedia.

Commenting on his decision to move, Pradhan said, “I thought this was the right time to start a new venture, something which could be called an ‘Executive Coaching Practice’. This would include higher level of training for professionals. The idea is to work with senior people and help them in reaching their business goals. This is something which is going to take my 16 years of experience. I’d always wanted to do this and this is the only reason I am moving on.”

He further said, “Though the official announcement of my moving on was made on July 11, I would continue with Mid-Day for the next couple of months till September 2008 as I have to hand over some projects.”

On his replacement, Pradhan said, “There will be internal promotion for the post of Director-Sales and Marketing. And that’s the great opportunity for other professionals, too, in the company.”

Pradhan had been with Mid-Day for a year and a half, where he had led the development and delivery of innovative and globally award winning marketing campaigns that created genuine value for both advertisers and the media house.

Prior to Mid-Day, Pradhan was with Bennett Coleman and Company Ltd as National Response Head – Magazines, for two years. Before that he had spent seven years with Contract Advertising. Pradhan had also worked with Foster’s, Sony Music and ABCL.
