According to Proof of Performance Data Services, media, telecom and FMCG sector invested the most in Mumbai during the first fortnight of July 2012. Out of the 68 routes that POPDS monitored in Mumbai in July, media and entertainment was the most active sector. About 25 per cent of the tracked sites were dominated by the media and entertainment sector. However, there was a six per cent drop in the outdoor presence of media and entertainment as compared to June 2012. Top media brands and movies that advertised were Zee TV, Bombay Times, Cocktail movie, Channel V, Sony Entertainment, Bol Bachchan movie, Indian Express, Sab TV, Picture Abhi Baki Hai and MTV.
Telecom was the second highest spender in Mumbai during this period. Around 16 per cent of the tracked routes had telecom advertisements, a four per cent drop from the previous month. Top 10 telecom players that used the Mumbai outdoor assets were Reliance Communication, Tata Docomo, Uninor, Vodafone, Airtel, MTS, Idea, Loop, MTNL and Aircel.
FMCG sector was seen advertising heavily in prime outdoor locations of Mumbai. Sunfeast, Britannia, Nestle, Society Tea, Lotus Refineries, Amul, Kingfisher Beer, Mother Dairy, Bisleri and Cadbury were the top active FMCG brands seen in the Mumbai outdoors during July.
Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) contributed to nine per cent of outdoor advertising during July 2012 in Mumbai. In the BFSI sector, Greater Bank, SBI, Axis Bank, Cosmos Bank, LIC, Standard Chartered Bank, Bank of India, Star Union Dai-Ichi Life Insurance, The New India Assurance and Uco Bank were the top ten players that advertised in outdoor.
