In-store digital media network vJive Networks and The NewsMarket have announced their partnership to bring international news video to over 100,000 in-store screens, shops, gyms and other retail locations by 2010. Through this partnership, vJive will have access to thousands of video clips from hundreds of leading global brands. The NewsMarket is a provider of online platform for corporations, government entities and non-profit organisations to manage, share and exchange video content to the media, consumers and other key audiences globally.
“India’s booming economy, nascent consumer culture and high-tech media consumption offer unique opportunities for marketers to reach and influence a billion potential customers with their brand messages. By partnering with The NewsMarket, we will be able to create relevant and desirable programming for Indian consumers and engage them with global brands,” said Rajesh Jog of vJive Networks.
“The success of vJive Networks is exemplary of the fragmented media landscape in which we operate – we are increasingly consuming our news on the web, on mobile devices, and now, as we shop,” said Shoba Purushothaman, CEO and Co-Founder, The NewsMarket.
vJive Networks will edit and broadcast content on its video screens across India, including Subhiksha, The Mobile Store and Gold’s Gym.
The partnership with vJive follows The NewsMarket’s successful launch of its first country-specific video portal for India – Thenewsmarket.com/india. The Indian site, which debuted earlier this year as part of the ‘India@60’ celebrations held in New York, includes content related to business and finance, travel and tourism, investment opportunities, and consumer interest across India.
