TDI International bags 7-year OOH advertising rights for Cochin Airport for Rs 70 cr

TDI International India Ltd has recently been awarded the OOH advertising rights for Cochin’s green field airport with a bid amount of approximately Rs 70 crore, according to sources close to the development. However, the company refrained from disclosing the bid amount. The contract is for a period of seven years and includes exclusive advertising rights for both within and outside the international and domestic terminals.

This is TDI’s 12th major win, with the airport OOH advertising rights for Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune, Vadodara, Thiruvananthapuram, Amritsar, Jammu, Calicut and Tirupati airports already in its kitty.

Other media owners in the fray for the Cochin Airport rights were Laqshya Media, Times OOH, Landmark Advertising (a South-based OOH company) and Peacock Advertising. However, Peacock Advertising was disqualified on grounds of not having any expertise in the field of airport advertising.

Vikas Bhambri, Vice President - Sales & Marketing, TDI International India Ltd, said, “TDI International has added India’s yet another green field airport – this one at Cochin – to its kitty. In a well contested open tender, the company has emerged as the winner and has been awarded advertising rights for the next seven years. With this addition, our company’s management has ensured a complete and composite presence in Kerala.”

He further said, “We have also bagged the exclusive outdoor advertising rights for the 5 km road that connects Cochin with the airport, but as of now we shall look forward to the number of billboards that would be erected in that stretch.”

When asked whether TDI International would be bidding for the outdoor advertising rights for the airport buses that commute between the city and the Cochin Airport, Bhambri replied in the negative.
