Tamil Nadu Transport Corp invites bids for ad rights on its buses

The Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation (CBE) Ltd (TNSTC) has invited bids under the ‘two-packet’ system for licensing out rights for display of ads on 4' X 3' panels on the rear side of the buses and 1'9" X 1'6" panels on the back side of the driver partitions inside the buses. The contract will be awarded for a period of 11 months. The EMD required is Rs 5 lakh. Tender documents costing Rs 5,000 will be available till 4 pm on August 10, 2010.

These rights are being offered on approximately 770 buses, which include moffussil buses plying in the Coimbatore region. However, these do not include the town buses plying within Coimbatore city, Tirupur city and moffussil buses plying from Coimbatore city to Mettupalayam, Tirupur, Pollachi and Palghat.

As per the eligibility criteria specified, the applicants should be a registered establishment with at least one year’s experience in the advertisement field. Applicants will be required to submit the earnest money deposit (EMD) through a demand draft from any nationalised or scheduled bank. The demand draft should be drawn in favour of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (CBE) Limited, Coimbatore - 43, payable at Coimbatore.

The applicants shall be required to quote the licence fee in terms of per buses per month (exclusive of taxes, service taxes, fees, charges, etc., payable to the local bodies, State Government, Central Government, etc.). The rate per bus per month shall be quoted by considering the total number of buses available for advertising in the rear side of bus body and the backside of driver partition (inside the bus).

The tender should be submitted in sealed envelopes addressed to the MD, TNSTC, 37, Mettupalayam Road, Coimbatore – 43 on or before 3 pm on August 11, 2010.

The tenders will be opened on August 12, 2010 at 3.30 pm.
