Ahmedabad-based Sambhaav Media Ltd has recently acquired 260 backlit design bus shelters from the Ahmedabad Municipal authorities. This is in addition to exclusive advertising rights procured by Sambhaav Media for front-lit and backlit hoardings on CG Road and Ashram Road. These roads are the main commercial hubs of the city.
The tender for the same was floated in June 2006 and the bidding process saw the participation of Chitra Publicity, Krishna Communications and Vantage Advertising along with Sambhaav Media Ltd.
The bidding amount that helped Sambhaav emerge the winner was Rs 8,100,000 per year for five years. The cost of erection of bus shelter is around Rs 2.50 lakh per bus shelter. Kiran Vadodaria, CMD, Sambhaav Group, said, “The creation of unique unipoles in the city for AMC, having good infrastructure back ground of the group company and a well organised co-coordinating team helped us in bagging this contract.”
On being queried on the kind of work that Sambhaav was doing, Vadodaria said, “We are focusing on erecting modern and well design bus shelters with sitting arrangements, provide the lights arrangement for the right good flooring work, backlit hoardings on the bus stand as well as advertising space in the shelters. We are also putting emphasis on having small unipole on one side of the shelter.”
To further spread its reach across Gujarat, Sambhaav Media has also acquired 1,400 kiosks in Surat. Launching second edition of afternoon tabloid Metro in Surat will be Sambhaav’s follow up action to consolidate and popularise its advertising concept.
