OOH Advtg Awards: Volkswagen, Mudra Max sweep the stakes

The exchange4media and network2media OOH Conference and Awards for Outdoor Advertising and Digital Signage 2012 were given away in the presence of the who’s who of India’s OOH industry in Delhi on March 16. The awards were presented by Guju Group of Companies and 4P Brandcom.

DDB Mudra Max swept the awards and was adjudged OOH Agency of the Year. Volkswagen was declared OOH Advertiser of the Year, while the Volkswagen Think Blue campaign walked away with Outdoor Campaign of the Year.

Pramod Bhandula, Managing Director, JCDecaux India, was adjudged OOH Person of the Year, while his agency, JCDecaux, was awarded Media Owner of the Year Award.

Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Noomi Mehta, Chairman and MD, Selvel One Group. The distinguished jury panel unanimously decided to have a Special Mention for Lalit Soni, a veteran in the OOH industry and considered to be the pioneer of LED lighting in India’s outdoor industry.

Awards winners in different categories:

Innovative Use of Existing Medium
Silver went to Mudra Max for the campaign titled, Broken Lift for client Birla Sunlife Insurance. Mudra Max bagged a second Silver for client Birla Sunlife Insurance for the campaign titled, Grand Theft. Bronze was awarded to Moms Outdoor Media Solutions for the work done for client Tata Docomo, titled New Year Text.

Innovative Creation of a New Medium
Enroute bagged a Silver for client Flo. Moms Outdoor Solutions, too, bagged a Silver for client Tata Docomo, for the campaign titled Docomo Ganpati Visarjan Boat. Bronze went to Bates for the work done for client Vodafone, titled Vodafone 3G LED Bus.

Best/ Innovative Brand Fit Within Existing Media
Three Silvers and a Bronze were awarded in this category. Mudra Max took home a Silver for the work titled Volkswagen Ugliest Billboard for client Volkswagen. Posterscope bagged a Silver – Posterscope Group, Party On Billboard; and Brandscope/OMD got a silver for Bosch Conveyor Belt. The Bronze went to Posterscope for the work done for MTV Unplugged.

Most Innovative Use of Digital OOH Media
Posterscope took home a Gold in this category for the work done for client Reebok, titled Easytone DOOH Activity. Bronze was awarded to MRM Worldwide for client Lufthansa German Airlines, work titled A380 Park And Fly.

Most Innovative Use of Indoor Media in a Point-Of-Purchase Environment
Mudra Max and Posterscope bagged a Silver each in this category. While Mudra Max won a Silver for the work titled, WGC - In The Lion's Den done for client World Gold Council, Posterscope won the Silver for Mattel Toys, work titled Thrill & compete @ retail with hot wheels car.

Most Innovative Use of Moving Media
Three Silvers and a Bronze were awarded in this category. Bates bagged a Silver for client Vodafone, work titled Vodafone 3G LED bus; Atin Promotions and Lintas Initiative Media won a Silver each for client Nokia, work titled Full Experience Plane. Bronze went to Milestone for the work titled, Tata - Moving Restaurant for client Tata Photon.

Best Outdoor Plan - Strategy
Mudra Max and Milestone won a Silver each in this category – while Mudra Max won for its work titled, Titan Belts and Wallets done for client Titan, Milestone won for the work done for McSpicy for client McDonald’s.

Creative Award - Telecom
Silver went to Moms Outdoor Media Solutions for client Tata Docomo, work titled New Year Text.

Creative Award - Banking, Financial Services and Insurance
JWT won a Silver for client Birla Sunlife, work titled Never-ending Passion Tablemat.

Creative Award - Entertainment and Media
Mudra Max took home a Silver for the work titled, Hangover Double Vision for client HBO. Bronze went to Milestone for client Colors, work titled Bigg Boss 5.

Creative Award - Automobiles
Mudra Max walked away with a Gold for client Volkswagen, work titled Volkswagen Think Blue – Ugliest Billboard. Mudra Max bagged a Silver as well for client Volkswagen, work titled Volkswagen Think Blue – Zebra Crossing. Bronze went to Times Innovative Media for client BMW, work titled Be Mini... Unbreak.

Creative Award - FMCG
Encyclomedia won a Silver in this category for client Coca Cola, work titled Thums Up Fight The Fear.

Creative Awards - Public Service/ Corporate Social Responsibility
Mudra Max enriched its golden haul with the work titled, Volkswagen Think Blue – Ugliest Billboard, done for client Volkswagen. Milestone won a Silver for client McDonald’s, work titled Traffic Safety Week. Milestone too won a Bronze for the work titled, KKK 4 – Innovations done for Colors.

Creative Award - Others
Mudra Max won two Silvers – one for World Gold Council, work titled WSG – Scrap TV Screensaver Conveyer Belt, and another for Titan Industries, work titled Titan Belts and Wallets. Bronze went to Milestone for the work titled, Tanishq Store Launch – Andheri, done for client Tata.
