Ogilvy & Mather India was among four agencies honoured in the International category at the 64th OBIE awards held in the US for their outstanding creative potential in the outdoor medium.
The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) recently held its Annual OBIE Awards to recognise creative excellence in outdoor advertising. The OBIE Awards are the oldest and one of the most prestigious awards in the advertising world.
Ogilvy and Mather won Gold for its Jaipur Foot campaign, while David with its entry for WWF – Trees made it as a finalist in the same category.

Jaipur Foot is a specially designed artificial limb/prosthetic for helping disabled people regain their independence, at almost no charge. This project was started by Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, a non-profit organisation established in 1975. Today, it has revolutionised the lives of thousands of amputees all across the world.
Best of Show honours were awarded to TBWA\Chiat\Day in Los Angeles for its work with Pedigree, Masterfoods USA that featured a series of billboards in the Consumer Goods and Services category. The billboards elicited emotional reactions by showing Pedigree’s ultimate users – puppies and dogs.
Chick-fil-A was inducted into the OBIE Hall of Fame, which is awarded annually to brands that have displayed outstanding OOH creative work over an extended period of time.
In addition to Best of Show, an additional total of 17 OBIEs were awarded in individual categories. Joining TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles in the Consumer Goods & Services Category was Blattner Brunner for Zippo “Summer”. Crispin Porter + Bogusky won two OBIE awards, one in the Automotive Category for MINI Cooper “Slot Track” and another in the Business & Technology Category for Google. Joining CP+B in the latter category was DeVito/Verdi for Mount Sinai Medical Center.
Two other categories had multiple OBIE winners. There were four OBIEs given in the International Category: two to TAXI Canada, one for MINI Cooper Canada “Porcelain Pylons” and one for Nike Canada “Barge Resistance”. The other winner in the category along with O&M was Goodgoll Vendramin, Inc. for Canadian Paraplegic Association.
Three OBIEs were given in the Media Category – Venable, Bell & Partners for Court TV, and company for HBO Deadwood, and boone/oakley advertising for HBO Six Feet Under. Boone/Oakley won a second OBIE in the Retail category for Bloom.
Additional OBIEs were awarded to BBDO West for San Francisco Zoological Society in the Amusement & Entertainment Category; Euro RSCG Chicago for Effen Vodka “Distilled 5 Effen Times” in the Beverage category; Clarity Coverdale Fury for MPAAT Quitplan in the Public Service Advertising category; and The WOW Factor, Inc. for The Coca-Cola Factory in the Digital Display Media category.
