O&M has won the maximum number of awards at the Outdoor Advertising Awards (OAA) 2006, which were held in Mumbai on June 10. Some of the other prominent winners include Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey Worldwide, JWT, Leo Burnett and Lowe Lintas for their outstanding work in outdoor advertising.
Some of the jury members included Pratap Bose, Priti Nair, Agnello Dias, Santosh Padhi, Juju Basu, Ryan Menezes, Manish Bhatt, Sajan Raj Kurup, Sagar Mahabaleshwar, and Sangeetha Shetty, among others.
Saatchi & Saatchi’s campaign for Ariel Corners was adjudged Campaign of the Year, bagging a Gold. Grey Worldwide won a Merit and Silver in this category for Haier- MTV, Discovery, and Nick and Child Care Beggar Boy 1, 2 and 3. Lowe Lintas won a Silver in this category for Woodland Climb, Trek and Camp.
In the Media Plan of the Year (National) category, O&M was the winner all the way, bagging the Merit, Gold and Silver for SBI, STAR Plus - KBC 2 and Hutch Brand Refresh, respectively.
O&M also won a Gold and Silver for DNA Launch and Hutch Delhi Marathon, respectively, in the Media Plan of the Year (Local) category. Media Planning Group won a Silver in this category for Red FM.
Saatchi & Saatchi won a Silver in the Telecom category for Reliance. There were no nominees in the Financial Services category this year.
In the category Entertainment and Media, Leo Burnett won a Merit for Makemytrip.com. There were two Silvers for Rediffusion DY&R (DNA) and FCB Ulka (Zee Studio) in this category. Leo Burnett also bagged a gold in this category for History Channel.
JWT won a Silver for Apollo Tyres in the Automotive category.
The FMCG category had four Silver winners – Saatchi & Saatchi for Ariel Corner-Chai, Saatchi & Saatchi for Ariel Corner-Ice Cream, O&M for Fevicol Mirror and Leo Burnett for P&G-Tide Radium. Saatchi & Saatchi also won a Merit in this category for Ariel Corner.
In the category for Consumer Durables, JWT won three Silvers for Levis Slim Figure 1, 2 and 3 while Grey Worldwide won two Silvers for Haier Discovery and Haier MTV.
O&M won a Merit for Lenovo in the Business and Technology category.
In the Retail category, Lowe Lintas bagged two Merits for Woodland Camp and Woodland Trek and a Silver for Woodland Climb.
Grey Worldwide won a Merit for Child Care Beggar Boy 2 in the Public and Social Service category. There were two Gold winners in this category – JWT for Indian Red Cross-Give and Leo Burnett for Sanctuary Asia-Deer. The Silvers in this category were awarded to Grey Worldwide for Child Care Beggar Boy 3, Mudra DDB for Cancer Patient Aid Association-Lighter, Leo Burnett for Sanctuary Asia-Rhino and O&M for Mumbai Traffic Police-Hairstyle.
Lowe Lintas bagged three Merits in Best Use of Innovation category for Woodland Climb, Woodland Trek and Woodland Camp. Leo Burnett won a Merit and Silver in this category for Indian Railways Dead Body and P&G-Tide Radium, respectively.
Grey Worldwide won two Merits for Child Care Beggar Boy in the Best Use of Ambient Media category. Saatchi & Saatchi won three Silvers in this category for Ariel Corners and one Silver for Umbro Wall. Leo Burnett won two Silvers in this category for Prerna Girl Child and Indian railways Dead Body. Grey Worldwide and Mudra DDB won a Silver in this category for Child Care Beggar Boy 2 and Cancer Patients Aid Association- Lighter, respectively.
OgilvyOne Worldwide won a Merit for Best Use of Technology for Air Action Center Fresh.
Infobay won a Gold for Media Owner of the Year, while Selvel Vantage won a Silver in this category. Macromedia Digital won a Merit for Printer of the Year and MMT Bangalore won a Silver in this category.
