Maheshwari Advertising, a Madhya Pradesh based OOH agency, recently introduced the concept of bus queue shelters in Indore. The agency has erected around 100 bus queue shelters in the city at a cost of Rs 2.5 lakh per shelter, with plans to erect another 70 such shelters in the next three months. Plans are also afoot to take the bus shelter concept to cities like Bhopal, Jabalpur, Raipur and Gwalior in the future.
Sunil Maheshwari, Managing Director, Maheshwari Advertising, said, “The speciality of this media is that it is always standalone from the crowded hoardings. Indore is a very congested town with high population density and cluttering of hoardings. With the frequency of people coming out of their homes during evenings and nights going up, er decided to launch some backlit media having higher utility.”
Some of the advertisers which have shown interest in these shelters include banking and financial institutes, the insurance sector, FMCG, construction sector, telecom/IT, apparels, educational institutes, and hotels, among others.
The agency claims to be getting a very good response to this effective display media not only from local clients but national clients as well.
Every project has its own share of challenges. When queried on the challenges that the agency faced while erecting the bus shelters, Maheshwari said, “Due to congestion in city it was quite a tedious and difficult job to erect these shelters because of the local area shopkeepers and house owners. However, cooperation from the local government enabled us to erect these shelters well on time.”
