Laqshya Group to sponsor Lanka-Bangladesh cricket series at Colombo

Laqshya Group will be sponsoring the Sri Lanka-Bangladesh cricket series in Colombo. Titled ‘Laqshya Series’, this event will have a single brand dominating with its presence on the field. The winning team will be awarded the Laqshya Trophy. The series comprises three ODIs and three Test matches, and the winners of each match will be presented with prizes. Ten Sports will cover the series, with the final match to be played on July 24.

Alok Jalan, MD and CEO, Laqshya Media, said, “Laqshya has sponsored this series to showcase its new English logo, which had been unveiled last month in various metros in India. The new logo is in line with the international footprints and ambition of the group. Laqshya is the only Indian OOH company that has been acknowledged in GCC countries, Sri Lanka and Mauritius. Laqshya was also the first OOH company to attract private equity investment of $10 million from UTI venture funds last year.”

The group is also planning to launch its IPO sometime around 2008-09, and sponsorship to this cricket event is a build-up to that. Laqshya Media Pvt Ltd, which is part of the Laqshya Group, is a Mumbai-based OOH media company with offices in 20 cities across India. With a focus on research, it has advocated best practices in the OOH industry since its inception.

Yuvraj Agarwal, Chief Marketing Officer, Laqshya Media, said, “It is unheard of an OOH agency to spend so much to unveil its new logo, but this is a testimony of our ambitious plans in the coming future.”
