Lalit Kala Akademi invites tender for art exhibition for Commonwealth Games

The Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, has invited open tenders under the ‘two-packet’ system from agencies for making backlit displays for a special art exhibition, titled ‘Art Celebrates’, on the occasion of the Commonwealth Games 2010. The successful bidders shall be required to put up 100 high quality displays at different locations in Delhi and NCR to depict works of art. The EMD required for this tender is Rs 50,000.

The scope of work shall also include fixing and unfixing of these hoardings at selected locations along with transportation and the mounting.

To be eligible for the contract, the applicants should have a minimum turnover of Rs 50 lakh in the last two financial years. They should also have an adequate experience of executing similar kind of jobs. Relevant documents to this effect will have to be submitted along with the bids.

As per the specifications given, the successful bidder shall be required to build and install approximately, 30 backlit displays of 10' X 8' size, 30 backlit displays of 8' X 6' size and 40 backlit displays of 5' X 4' size.

The displays will consist of a good quality iron box of 6" width and 1" X 1" steel tube frame covered with imported powder coated sheets from all sides and CRC 22 sheet at the back. The boxes will be fitted with Phillips electrical lights along with high quality digitally printed backlit flex. A wooden frame will be used in the front.

Some of the displays installed at certain locations might require generators to ensure power supply.

Bidders are required to quote rates for 'silent' generators for a period of 15 days along with the rates for supply and unfixing these displays at different locations.

The EMD of Rs 50,000 will have to be deposited along with the completed bids through a bank draft drawn in favour of the Secretary, Lalit Kala Akademi.

Applicants are required to submit their bids in two envelopes marked as 'A' and 'B'. Envelope 'A' will contain all technical details along with commercial terms and conditions, whereas envelope 'B' will contain the financial bid indicating item-wise price for the items mentioned in the technical bid.

Duly completed bids can be submitted to the secretary, Lalit Kala Akademi, Rabindra Bhavan, 35, Ferozeshah Road, New Delhi, up to 1 pm on September 3, 2010. The bids will be opened the same day at 4 pm.
