On the occasion of Diwali when people clean their homes and string up lights to decorate, it becomes necessary to also clean our city. In a bid to spread this message, JCDecaux India along with New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and New Delhi Traders’ Association (NDTA) decided to clean the heart of the Capital – Connaught Place (CP).
In the wee hours of November 10, JCDecaux deployed 15 cleaning and maintenance vehicles and team of 65 skilled workers to carry out a cleaning drive in the inner circle of CP. These vehicles which are equipped with state-of-the-art cleaning tools were used to wash the pavements and walkways in front of shops.
The main objective of this drive was to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance of the crown jewel of NDMC and to increase awareness amongst people towards keeping our public spaces clean and maintained.
JCDecaux India undertook this initiative with an aim to spread awareness about keeping a clean and green environment and working towards promoting a healthy life. As the company believes that the quality of service maintenance is an essential part of the business, JCDecaux does not sub-contract it's cleaning services, thereby retaining control over specific servicing requirements, including quick response to damage from bad weather or defacement, regular upkeep on wear and tear, and scheduled cleaning of furniture located over large areas, said an official release.
