Digital Signage Asia 2008 to be held in October; to highlight flexibility & bandwidth of medium

Digital Signage Asia 2008 (DSA), an Expo and Convention on digital signage, will be held in Mumbai on October 3-4. The two-day event will highlight the flexibility and bandwidth of digital signage and showcase its various facets. DSA is expected to see the participation of conglomeration of industry heads, digital network operators, retailers, brand marketers, research agencies, technology solutions providers and digital network owners.

Digital Signage Asia is being organised by Thoughtshows and Events, the on-the-ground events division of VJ Media Works, a media company with interests in publishing and industry events. Their two events – In-Store Asia (previously known as POP Asia) and OAC (Outdoor Advertising Convention) are already popular brands in the advertising and marketing industries.

Vasant Jante, Managing Director, VJ Media Works, said, “While the world is embracing digital signage as an emerging medium, China currently leads the world in the number of digital signage displays with over 100,000 displays installed and there is no reason why India cannot match the same with a boom in OOH advertising and retail space. DSA 2008 will be a perfect platform for all the stakeholders to come together and chart out the future plan to help achieve that.”

The Convention will feature stalwarts from all over the world presenting their insights on the industry through panel discussions and interactive sessions. The Expo will focus on the cutting edge digital signage solutions available in the market. There will also be a separate platform exclusively for demos, product launches and interactive sessions.

Digital signage is being hailed as the future of out-of-home media. With the boom in retail, coupled with more people spending more time out of their homes, digital signage advertising is the next generation choice for marketers seeking to connect the masses with their brands.

The industry needs an authoritative forum that can offer the latest on emerging trends and developments in the field, present successful ventures and provide a platform for business networking. This is where DSA steps in to fill that need and provide a platform for India’s biggest event on digital signage.
