Clear Channel's asset management and outdoor divisions chalk out ambitious plans for 2007

Clear Channel Communications, which entered India through a buyout of the More Group of Companies, has chalked ambitious growth plans for the coming year, especially its two business divisions – the Asset Management Division and an outdoor specialist agency.

Adille Sumariwalla, Chairman and Managing Director, and Somesh Kapai, Business Head, took over the reins at Clear Channel India in the fourth quarter of 2003 and have since then turned led the company to a healthy growth.

The Asset Management Division focuses and specialises in acquiring premium outdoor formats across various outdoor markets in India, whereas the outdoor specialist agency offers clients a single window operation on outdoor campaigns, ranging from planning strategies, providing ROIs, execution, monitoring, etc.

Robin Carruthers, National Head-Outdoor Consultancy, Clear Channel Communications, said, "We are confident of delivering all that we have promised to our clients and, in fact, would stretch an extra mile to ensure that we retain the trust that they have reposed in us. The year 2007 will see us getting a lot more aggressive in gaining new businesses and I am very confident that together with our Asset Management Division we will be a winning combination."

The Asset Management Division currently controls and sells a large inventory of

84 backlit bus shelters, 27 frontlit cantilevers and 30 billboards across Bangalore, and 85 billboards in Kolkata.

Clear Channel India had recently won a tender for 27 unipoles in Central Delhi, which have already been put up. Apart from this, Clear Channel also offers a bouquet of 1,865 bus shelters across Delhi. In addition, Clear Channel also has various options for the advertiser regarding displays on the Delhi Metro.

In Mumbai, Clear channel has nearly 65 billboards. The company has recently acquired the marketing rights to a number of important and strategic overhead panels in the city.

The Asset Management Division is divided into regional offices headed by Amit Sarkar, South Head; Raj Mohanty, North Head, and Jerald Stephen, West Head.

The outdoor specialist agency division is headed by Robin Carruthers. This division operates out of independent offices across India and currently has 14 offices pan- India. Commencing operation from ground zero, the outdoor division today has added to its portfolio an impressive list of clients. Yahoo! India was the first major client that they had acquired and since then they have added on Citifinance, Globus Stores, Indigo Airlines, Triumph Lingerie, Infomedia Yellow Pages, and Radio One, among others. More recently, the agency has also signed up with clients like LG India, Ultra Tech Cement and Option One.
