Clear Channel, a US-based independent international player in the outdoor sector which entered the domestic OOH market in 1998, has recently tied up with Adwel Advertising in Delhi to do the marketing and sales for their bus shelters. The company is also looking at doing major innovations for the huge list of clients.
Adille Sumariwala, Chairman and Managing Director, Clear Channel Communications India, said, “We are going to market the 2,000 bus shelters in Delhi in all the prime locations. We target all the major players who are investing in outdoor bus shelters. The time each advertisement can stay depends on the agreement between the advertiser and us.”
Clear Channel recently bagged 27 unipoles in Central Delhi for which a tender was floated by the MCD, informed Sumariwala. The OOH player has got the marketing rights for billboards, bridges, and traffic booths at very prime locations in Mumbai such as Marine Drive, Mahim Junction, etc.
Clear Channel is present in major Indian cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Pune, and Ludhiana, among others. Among the various clients that the agency handles include Standard Chartered Bank, Yahoo!, Indigo Airlines, Hutch, Airtel, Tata Indicom, etc.
