Billboard of the week: Shiv Sena’s tribute to Balasaheb

Mumbai mourned the demise of Shiv Sena Supremo Bal Thackarey last weekend. While the city came to a standstill with the news, his followers and well wishers captured the outdoor landscape with various good-bye messages.

This week Sushma Jhaveri, Chief Operating Officer, Madison Communication picks Shiv Sena’s tribute to Balasaheb Thackarey as the billboard of the week.

I spotted it at...
Various locations from Chembur to South Mumbai, South Mumbai to Worli, Andheri to Powai, etc. 

It stayed with me because...
If outdoor sites – from shop fronts to billboards to bus back panels – are at an eye level, they are going to be seen and observed effectively. One thing that struck me was that all these posters and billboards were at eye level when I was driving around.

Also, all the formats that are dedicated to the tribute have a clean singular message. It is a fact that the human brain cannot process complicated things when you have fraction of a second till the next outdoor site appears and this is the main reason that this campaign came to my notice instantly.
