Yamaha consolidates business with Mudra.

Optimum Media Solutions, the media specialist company of Mudra Communications has been assigned the AOR for Yamaha Motors. "Though many media agencies have shown interest in the Yamaha business but there was no formal pitch that took place," says Lalin Kapoor, marketing chief at Yamaha Motors.

So what went in favour of OMS. "Mudra is working closely with us for quite sometime now and hence it understands the brand completely. The presentation made by OMS strongly linked the creative and media strategy with each other and that caught our attention," rationales Kapoor. "Also we were in some sort of transition. While the creative duties is handled by Mudra, we shifted the media planning to Mudra last month," adds Kapoor. With this AOR win, Mudra has consolidated all aspects of Yamaha advertising.

Commenting on the gain, Sandeep Vij, President, OMS, said, "With this integration of planning and buying, we believe that we would be able to deliver meaningful marketplace results for Yamaha."

The Yamaha AOR business sums up to around of Rs. 25 crore. The account was earlier with TBWA\Anthem. Given the highly competitive nature and a runaway growth that the motorcycle market is experiencing, Yamaha is likely to get extremely aggressive on the marketing front. The outcome of which can be elucidated by the full back page advertisement for its newly launched mobike, 'Libero', which ran yesterday in a leading daily.
