WPP Media shines again; Bags 'Best Agency Office of the Year Award'

Adding to its list of achievements, WPP Media has won the 'Best Agency Office of the Year Award' at the 'Media' magazine's annual Asia Pacific agency awards in Hong Kong. Among the five finalists for this award, four were creative agencies, and WPP Media was the only media specialist agency.

Speaking to exchange4media from Hong Kong, Andre Nair, CEO of WPP Media-South Asia, said, "I feel completely ecstatic on this occasion. We were the only media specialist agency in the finals. It is a real tribute to our team's efforts and I'm immensely proud of them." He further added, "Infact the occasion marked a great day for the Indian advertising as Piyush Pandey (Group President & National Creative Director, O&M India) was also named as the creative person of the year, Asia-Pacific 2002 in the same award ceremony."

Ashutosh Srivastava, Managing Director, MindShare India expressed similar feelings, "When we started, people said that it won't be an easy task but today, with this award, we have proved ourselves beyond doubt. And I think the credit goes to the entire team of WPP Media," he said.

WPP Media, which was launched in India 11 months ago, has three operating units - MindShare India, MindShare Fulcrum and Maximize. In the run up, WPP Media's different operating and specialist units have won 43 of 53 businesses pitched. WPP Media had also won high accolades in the Emvie Awards 2002.

WPP Media is a part of the WPP Group and it has 70 offices in 51 countries throughout the USA, Latin America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
